You need water. Since it won't rain every day, and it is not always ice, you have two choices: moving (river) or still (lake). Moving is greatly preferred for sanitation. Next, food. Plants or animals. Animals imply weapons or traps, plants require foraging or cultivation. Crops get eaten by other animals. Finally, shelter is needed since it isn't always 72F.
